It may have been a chilly Saturday in February, but that didn’t stop our team getting behind the local team, Stevenage FC as they donned limited-edition shirts to support the work of Stevenage Community Trust.
Proudly wearing their shirts and shaking their donation buckets, SPL team members joined the team of trust volunteers as they collected money around the stadium. The final score wasn’t the one that the supporters or players had hoped for, but with over £3000 raised from donations and shirt sales, it was a big win for the community.
Robert our founder and chair of the trust said:
“In our 30th anniversary year the Stevenage Community Trust are immensely grateful to Stevenage FC and in particular to their CEO, Alex Tunbridge who so kindly arranged for the team to wear shirts with our logo on for the game against Leyton Orient and helping raise £££££’s.
Personally I felt a real sense of pride seeing the team come out of the tunnel as the shirts looked amazing and the generosity of the Stevenage FC fans buying shirts with the Stevenage Community Trust logo on and gifting monies through the bucket collection epitomised what a great town we live and work in.”
