Stevenage Packaging Supports the Autobiography Launch of Roland Butcher

Stevenage Packaging were honoured to attend the autobiography launch of Roland Butcher, a Stevenage cricketing hero and the first from the town to play for England. Roland Butcher’s book launch event took place on 14th May 2025, and was attended by Stevenage Packaging’s founder, Rob Stewart, as well as a number of cricketing legends and notable dignitaries.

The launch event for Roland’s autobiography, Breaking Barriers – Barbados to England… and back, was a landmark night, celebrating the sharing of his remarkable and inspiring life story. Showcasing hard work, determination and recognition of talent can help anyone achieve their goals, Roland’s autobiography details his journey from local pitches in Barbados to becoming the first black man to play test cricket for England. A true inspiration to future generations of cricketers, Roland delves into his challenges with adversity and experiences of success and jubilation, as well as granting readers behind-the-scenes insights into his time at Middlesex County Cricket Club. A hero of both Barbados and England alike, Roland’s celebration of his heritage shines through in the book.
