The Challenge.

A long-standing customer approached us, looking to implement a major operational upgrade to their processing and packing line. Their existing bag-filling process was fully manual, and they were ready to make the move to a new automated packing line, which used film.

This was a significant step forward in efficiency for the customer, and as part of the project, they had already decided on the packing line required to deliver this. To ensure a smooth and successful transition, they turned to us for support on the technically engineered film required to run on this new packaging machine.

Efficiency through automation.

The customer’s move from manual bag filling to automated packaging offered a real opportunity to improve productivity, accuracy, and product consistency. However, achieving those benefits depended on getting the film blend exactly right for their unique product and packing requirements.

Recognising the importance of hands-on technical guidance, they asked us to lead the packaging film process.

Adapting and delivering.

To ensure everything worked prior to the machine being commissioned, one of our technical film specialists travelled with the customer to the machine manufacturer in Europe during the machine build phase. There, we set up the film directly on the new machine and ran trials using the customer’s own products.

The initial trials were successful, delivering strong pack performance and presentation. However, before moving into full production, the customer requested adjustments to the film size.

We responded quickly, creating a revised film specification and supplying it for a follow-up UK trial, where our team was again on site to support testing and optimise performance.

A reliable, tailored solution.

This proactive, hands-on approach ensured that both the machine and film were delivered, installed, and commissioned successfully. By working closely with the customer and machine manufacturer at every stage, from factory trials in Europe to final production in the UK, we were able to guarantee a smooth transition to automation and deliver a reliable packaging solution tailored to their needs. The customer now has a future-proof solution installed for their packaging process, whilst delivering cost savings and improving efficiency within their process.
